Standards involved
One planned output is that quality compliance and standards are strengthened. The document notes a lack of competent laboratories and certification bodies able to deliver recognised results. It plans support for conformity assessment bodies, with plans for their accreditation. This points to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 and ISO 9001:2015.

The ISO Certification Africa Project helps SMEs, laboratories and certification bodies prepare for the quality requirements ATCMA addresses. We run gap assessments, guide implementation of ISO 9001:2015, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 or ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015, and prepare documentation. Write to [email protected] to begin.
Status
Unknown. The November 2024 document describes a 48 month Continental Component and shows no open call. The newer official pages could not be loaded on 29 September 2026.
